13.12.2006

December 12. Kyiv. UNIAN. The Ukrainian Internet Leaders award ceremony, instituted by InternetUA magazine, was held at the Ukrainian News Agency.

The organizers of the Ukrainian Internet Leaders award held the ceremony on December 12, acknowledging VOLIA for setting an absolute Ukrainian Internet market record by providing services to new subscribers at the speed of 38 Mb/s, available to since September. From now on, subscribers can get an instant response to any request they might have, from enabling a complicated web-service to downloading a heavy media file.

In addition, the award organizers pointed out that “the expansion of broadband access is an important aspect of Internet development.” Now that uninterrupted and high-speed connection to the network is available, people spend more time on-line, produce and upload their own content more often. Since the demand for new generation web sites is growing, advertisers are expected to switch to the network faster.

VOLIA is a leading provider of telecommunication services, including access to digital packages of cable television channels under the Volia Premium TV trade mark and high-speed Internet access under the Volia Broadband trade mark. High-speed Internet – up to 38 Mb/s through a dial-up line, a broad range of various subscription plans for digital packages to cater to any taste and age, and nearly 100 TV programs in the largest subscription plan.
